<![CDATA[25/08/2020 COVID Update]]>Mon, 24 Aug 2020 23:44:03 GMThttp://igniteplumbing.com/blog/25082020-covid-updateSince our previous message, a lot of things have changed in every day to day life and we have had to adapt to these changes in our business practices.

We have now mostly resumed full operations and the majority of our staff have returned to work. We have now implemented safety procedures in our working practices which include, wearing of face coverings when we enter our client's premises and continue to wear these whilst working. Our engineers are also wearing disposable gloves whilst carrying out the work, whenever it is practical and we have hand sanitiser stations installed in our vehicles to ensure that we are doing as much as we can to prevent any spread.

We are constantly monitoring the advice from both the Government and the World Health Organisation and we are adapting our business practices to suit these guidelines.

We hope you have managed to stay safe and if you would like to find out about what other safety protocols we have in place, please do not hesitate to get in contact

<![CDATA[COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update]]>Tue, 24 Mar 2020 23:18:37 GMThttp://igniteplumbing.com/blog/covid-19-coronavirus-updateHello everyone,

Further to the Prime Ministers announcement on Monday 23rd March 2020, we will now with immediate effect postpone all non-essential works until further notice, we will be contacting all of our scheduled jobs in the next 3 weeks to cancel the appointment and suggest rearranging when restrictions are lifted.

We have not taken this decision lightly but the safety of our staff, our customers and the communities in which we serve will forever remain our number one priority. We have tried to maintain appointments right up until now and were actively taking phone calls and booking appointments in the last few days.

Everything is uncertain when these restrictions will be over and we will review the Government guidance as it emerges so we can seek to fulfil the essential services we provide to our clients within the new restrictions. We will certainly be in contact when we are able to resume operations to inform everyone of our situation.

If you require a boiler service in the coming months, in order to keep your manufacturers warranty valid, the boiler manufacturers have all released statements stating that they will uphold boiler warranties as long as they are serviced within a reasonable time when the government allow works to continue. All the manufacturers are giving different guidelines so it is advisable to get in contact with them if you have any queries.

If any emergency jobs arise (i.e no heating/hot water or major water leaks) please get in contact and if possible we will try our best to help out. We are still available via phone (01698 609003) & email (info@igniteplumbing.com) to discuss any queries or questions you may have.

Thank you for your continued support of Ignite Plumbing Services and we hope you and your family stay safe and well during these troubling times.

Kind Regards

Alan Crawford,
Proprietor,

<![CDATA[Start of Gas Safety Week 2017]]>Sun, 17 Sep 2017 22:31:35 GMThttp://igniteplumbing.com/blog/start-of-gas-safety-week-2017It’s here! Gas Safety Week 2017 has arrived and it’s time to familiarise ourselves with Ignite Plumbing's top tips:
1. Get your gas appliances checked annually;
At Ignite Plumbing, we think getting an annual gas safety check is as important as getting your car serviced annually as not only does it give your appliances a clean, the gas safety check also ensures that your central heating boiler is working safely, efficiently and burning the gas correctly. This will not only save you money on your energy bills but will also ensure you and your families safety for the following year. We advise that this is carried out just before the winter starts, as you are more likely to use your gas boiler more during the winter months so there is more chance of faults occurring.

2. Check your heating engineer is Gas Safe registered;
You can confirm our registration to Gas Safe by following this link, this will take you to our page on the Gas Safe Register website, which will list all of the work categories that we are allowed to work on. You can also call Gas Safe on
0800 408 5500 to check our registration status, our company registration number is 571031 or you can enter these details into the Gas Safe website to confirm. If we are subcontracting any work out then we always ensure that the gas engineer that we contract is Gas Safe registered before we allow them to carry out Gas work. You will be able to confirm their registration by asking to see their card or by contacting us first and we will provide this to you.

3. Check your engineer’s ID card when they arrive to do the job;
At Ignite Plumbing, any heating engineers that visit your home from my company will have their Gas Safe Registration card with them, this will either be carried on them or in their vehicle. You can ask to see this at any time and they will be happy to show you this. There is a list on the back of the card of all the gas appliances and work categories that they are qualified to work on, you can confirm these details on the Gas Safe Website or by calling Gas Safe themselves (
0800 408 5500)
